Jewel and her cubs live in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Seeing a bear in the wild up close and personal is a hard-pounding highlight of any camping adventure. Jewel was about 50 feet off the trail when Julie noticed her on a Family Reunion camping trip in 2005.
